I have actually stopped watching The Tonight Show with Jay Leno after he unfairly and unmanly replaced Conan O’Brien as the host of the show. Leno hosted The Tonight Show in 1992 after Johnny Carson retired until 2009 and was replaced by O’ Brien. He then started his primetime show with NBC last year but it was later cancelled due to dismal ratings. What followed was one of the biggest late night show controversy after he returned as the host of The Tonight Show, and had O’Brien kicked out. But last night, I tuned in again, not because of him, but because Robert Pattinson was the guest. He was out to promote The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.
Pattinson was asked by Leno first if his parents, who were both seated at the audience, believed what the tabloids were telling like him having an alien child. He revealed that they used to-well, not the alien baby thing- but not anymore. He added that it depends on the sources. He also read some of the e-mails sent to him by his father. One talked about what his dad felt about Twilight. He revealed that his father thought Twilight was a mixture between Jaws and Superman. He then read another one which dealt with wooing a lady by kissing her hand. He then talked about his nude scenes. He said that he was given a little robe and by the time he was about to take it off, he felt like he was gonna throw up. And when he was naked, only one person looked a little more than one second at him: the cameraman. He wanted to say to the 6 or 7 people there who looked away, “Hey, I’m sitting here naked alright now I want some respect.”
Later, Emma Roberts, who just landed a starring role in the fourth installment of the Scream franchise, revealed that he was into Edward. She said to Pattinson sitting next to her when she was asked by Leno if she was Team Edward or Team Jacob, “I’m sorry, your hair looks wonderful in person, but I’m going to have to say I’m Team Jacob.” But Pattinson said, “You’ve just revealed yourself to have absolutely no taste.” Snap! Emma, niece of superstar Julia Roberts, posted on her Twitter, “Rob Pattinson is so nice! I was so slightly disappointed his skin wasn’t glistening & the song ‘Wild Thing” didn’t start when he shook my hand,” which then started an influx of hate tweets from the Team Edward fans. The nasty tweets caused Emma to cancel her Twitter account.
But on a happier note, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse is set to hit theaters on June 30, 2010. But you may want to Watch Eclipse online to stay away from The Tonight Show with Jay Leno… unless one of the Twilight casts will appear.
