Salary Dispute Over Kellan and Ashley Resolved

The question if Kellan Lutz and Ashley Greene will return for the final installment of the Twilight series has been looming around for weeks because of a reported salary dispute with the studio. But now the issue has been resolved when Summit Entertainment has published a press release. Before that, Summit has also released the first single off the Eclipse soundtrack, Neutron Star Collision (Love is Forever) by the British rock/alternative band Muse. They are the only band that has appeared in all the Twilight soundtracks; probably they are the favorite band of the favorite band of Stephenie Meyer, who wrote the novels of the same title which the movies are based on.

Lutz and Greene were reportedly trying to renegotiate their deals with the studio. They were asking for higher salaries if they want to reprise their roles as Emmett and Alice Cullen. Based on reports, their asking price ranges from $1.5 million to $4 million a movie for Breaking Dawn. (Although there is no confirmation yet if 756-page adaptation will be made into two movies, but Breaking Dawn already has a scheduled release date, November 18, 2011.) But it seemed like the studio did not bite their threat and rumor has it that it was Summit who leaked the reports to make the actors look greedy. And not only that, they were also trying to pull another “Rachelle Lefevre” on them, and will be replaced by other actors to take over their roles. Unlike Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner, Kellan and Ashley were still just second leads even if they have relatively huge fanbase.  Even if they were replaced, the franchise would still be a big hit, as long as the three lead stars would still be on it. So, they signed on reprise their roles for a reported $1.25 million per film, which slightly higher than what Jackson Rathbone and Nikki Reed inked with around $750,000 to $1 million a film.

So, when you Watch Eclipse online, expect Kellan and Ashley to also appear on Breaking Dawn. The Twilight Saga: Eclipse will hit theaters on June 30, 2010.
